White Stone began its journey with the nation of Haiti in 2002, when the church received a random letter from a Haitian pastor asking for help. A year later, a small group of people made the trip down to see the situation for themselves. One trip led to another, and another and. . . What a journey it has been to walk hand in hand with our beautiful and strong brothers and sisters in Haiti for the past 15+ years.. The focus of our ministry there has continued to evolve over the years, but the focus has never strayed far from James 1:27, “Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress….”
Over the years we have sought to accomplish this in numerous ways: by supporting orphanages, facilitating adoptions, building homes for families in distress, feeding programs/food distributions, building local churches and equipping Haitian pastors, supporting schools and teachers, investing in raising up the next generation of leaders, disaster relief, medical clinics, and partnering with other ministries on the ground that are already furthering the Kingdom. In all of this, we have been the ones who have been overwhelmingly blessed, having been shaped and bettered from the process.
We generally join in the work our colleagues are already doing in Haiti by visiting several times a year. However, because of current situations, we are not going at this time. Our hope is that visiting will resume soon. Check back soon for more up-to-date information on what’s next and how you can get involved.
