serve at white stone

At White Stone, we believe part of  serving God is by serving others. We are a mobile church, which means we have many different ministry and volunteer opportunities for you; places where you can use your God-given talents and skills as you join in the work with us.

SERVE: local

One of our we will statements says "we will be privileged participants in God's story, not just spectators." Simply put, we believe that the love of Jesus compels us to love + serve others. Here are some ways to do that locally:

  • Our food pantry operates out of our office the second Saturday of each month and the fourth Tuesday of each month.  We are here to serve those within our community + those within our church body who need assistance. Our food pantry is drive thru + very minimal contact for your safety. If you would like more info about the food panty, ways you can help, or would like to volunteer, contact Joe Brawley via EMAIL or PHONE  /  office address: 1719 E. Emory Rd

  • Working with KARM is our longest running mission work at White Stone. Each month, a group of women from our church provide a birthday party for the women staying at KARM, along with cake +  personal products just for them. If you would like more info about this ministry, contact Beth Fox via email HERE.

  • Water Angels is a ministry that serves the homeless + marginalized in our city. You can find more info about them by visiting their Facebook page HERE or by calling (865)524.5194. We join their work by providing meals, volunteering in their clothes closest, and attending worship services with them.

  • One of our we will statements is we will join with God + others in the care of widows + orphans in their distress. Foster care + adoption are important parts of Kingdom work + we want to come alongside people + families who answer this call.  For more info on this ministry, check out our social medias or email HERE

SERVE: INTERNATIONAL

Another one of our we will statements says "we will go ourselves, not just send our money." We have joined the work alongside of our friends in Haiti + Nicaragua. Read more below on how you can get involved:

  • White Stone began its journey with the nation of Haiti in 2002, when the church received a random letter from a Haitian pastor asking for help. A year later, a small group of people made the trip down to see the situation for themselves.  One trip led to another, and another and. . . What a journey it has been to walk hand in hand with our beautiful and strong brothers and sisters in Haiti for the past 15+ years..  The focus of our ministry there has continued to evolve over the years, but the focus has never strayed far from James 1:27“Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress….”

Over the years we have sought to accomplish this in numerous ways: by supporting orphanages, facilitating adoptions, building homes for families in distress, feeding programs/food distributions, building local churches and equipping Haitian pastors, supporting schools and teachers, investing in raising up the next generation of leaders, disaster relief, medical clinics, and partnering with other ministries on the ground that are already furthering the Kingdom.  In all of this, we have been the ones who have been overwhelmingly blessed, having been shaped and bettered from the process.

We generally join in the work our colleagues are already doing in Haiti by visiting several times a year. However, because of current situations, we are not going at this time. Our hope is that visiting will resume soon. Check back soon for more up-to-date information on what’s next and how you can get involved.

  • We have joined in the work that Straight Street International is already doing in the country of Nicaragua; visit their website for information on their mission + vision on the ground in Granada + surrounding areas. Cody + Kensey Zimmerman have been working with our friends there + serving since 2014.
