Beyond What You Can Bear
You've heard it before: "God will not give you more than you can handle." It may surprise you, but that saying is not actually in the Bible. It's actually a misquoted version of our verse for today—1 Corinthians 10:13. What the verse actually promises is that God won't allow you to face temptation to sin in a way that is beyond your ability to resist. In this message, Cody challenges us to change our perspective on what it means to fight temptation. We have to see our temptation for what it is, and approach it with humility—recognizing that it can destroy us and that we are not immune to it. At the same time, we are to have confidence that God will always provide a way to endure and escape it.
And lastly, we learn that fighting temptation is more about creativity and intentionality than it is about brute force and willpower.
